What Is K-Laser Therapy?
K-laser therapy uses what scientists classify as Class IV therapeutic laser beams, which aim near-infrared and red wavelengths (laser light) to cause a photochemical reaction in tissues. This results in a powerful therapeutic effect. This laser therapy technology was pioneered in Europe in the 1970s and was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the United States in 2005.
The K-laser equipment can be tuned to different light frequencies to treat different conditions. The 660nm wavelength setting, for example, is often used to heal wounds and promote regulation of scar tissue, while the 970nm wavelength setting is used to boost blood circulation.
The Benefits of
Pet Laser Therapy
K-laser therapy is used to boost your dog or cat’s blood flow and circulation. This enhances the body’s natural healing processes. The laser light also tends to reduce inflammation and, in turn, reduces painful sensations and provides relief to your pet without the need for invasive surgery or potentially dangerous pain medications.
Laser treatments for pets are safe and pain-free. During treatment, the vet will aim the laser at the affected area of your pet’s body. As blood circulation increases, it brings more nutrients, oxygen, and water to the area so it can heal faster and more effectively. As tissue returns to its normal state, pain and discomfort subside naturally.
At the cellular level, the laser light boosts the metabolic activity taking place in each cell. As nutrients move across the cells’ membranes under K-laser light stimulation, more cellular energy is generated, which hastens the healing process.
Pet laser therapy can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including:
Pain from arthritis
Stiffness in joints
Inflammation
Wounds
Keep in mind that the above list is by no means exhaustive. K-laser therapy helps the vast majority of treated animals. If your pet is suffering from pain or discomfort for any reason, this treatment may be an appropriate solution.
